Performance Contractors Awarded Grant for Welding School
Performance Contractors was awarded an Alabama State Energy Sector Partnership Grant for over $370,000 by the Department of Labor (DoL) and Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) through the Alabama Governor’s Office of Workforce Development for Welder Training.
Over a span of 12 months, Performance Contractors trained 88 welders. Training was offered to incumbent employees, military veterans, unemployed skilled craftsmen looking for skills upgrade and those who had no previous experience in the construction welding field. To date, all 88 welders have been employed. 73 trained welders were hired to work at Performance Contractors on various jobs.
