||Performance High School Welding Teams win big at Competitions!
On March 29th, Performance Contractors sponsored the FFA High School Welding Competition held at the ABC Pelican Chapter in Baton Rouge.
The competition required each team to complete two welds. The first, a horizontal V-Groove and the second, a Vertical V-Groove weld, both on 3/8” thick beveled plate. The competitors were given a time limit of 1 hour on each weld.
Both teams sponsored by Performance Contractors, Inc., Live Oak High School and Livonia High School, placed in second and third place!
Prior to the FFA High School Welding Competition, Performance Contractors sponsored high schools, Zachary and Central, excelled in the the ABC High School Craft competition. Zachary placed first and Central placed second in the team welding event.
“The time and effort we spend with these schools is obviously paying off. The students we sponsor are far above their competition,” said Joel Thames, Performance Contractors employee.
